I embarked on a unique experiment, inspired by the excessive drinking in Amazon Prime's Spider-Noir. Armed with a bottle of Jameson whiskey and a breathalyzer, I attempted to replicate the characters' drinking habits, taking a shot every time they did. The series, set in Depression and Prohibition-era New York, features copious whiskey consumption, which I found both entertaining and uncomfortably realistic. As I binge-watched, I noted my reactions and physical state, aiming to understand the impact of the characters' drinking. The experiment revealed the effects of excessive drinking, from the initial warmth and euphoria to the eventual queasiness and slurred speech. Despite the fun, I realized the importance of moderation, as the characters' drinking habits could be debilitating and even toxic to mere mortals. This experience made me appreciate the fine line between entertainment and reality, and the need for responsible drinking in our lives.
